The Cathedral of St. George belongs to the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of the British Isles and Ireland. It is the official seat of the Bishop of the Archdiocese, Metropolitan Silouan (Oner).
We are a big parish, led by Archpriest father Samir Gholam and father Michael Touma. Metropolitan Silouan, presides at divine services when he is not on the pastoral duties outside London. We serve the needs of the Orthodox Christians in London and the surrounding area but are also welcoming to the people who are not yet orthodox and wish to discover our faith. Explore the subpages in this section of the website to find out more about the history of our parish, our bishop, and our clergy.
We observe the regular weekly schedule of services: Great Vespers on Saturdays and Divine Liturgies on Sundays. Due to the major maintenance works at our Cathedral, we currently must celebrate Sunday Divine Liturgies at a different church. The full address of that church is Maria Assumpta Chapel, 21 Kensington Square, London W8 5HH. Other services are celebrated according to the Orthodox Church calendar. The time and location of such services are announced in advance. Please visit Schedule of Services page of this website for up-to-date information and details.
